Richard Benson, a stone carver came in to the art studio to introduce the kids to stone carving.  The kids loved it!  They worked with Italian white alabaster and BC soapstone to create some pretty stunning pendants.  They worked hard and focussed well and the results were so gratifying.  It was awesome to polish the shapes and see the natural stone patterns appear.

I also just created some huge panels for their next project (large figure/landscape paintings) and as we only have 4 more classes before Xmas break left we need to GET BUSY creating!!
